Homeowners insurance in Arizona

A homeowners policy is really four things bundled together: the structure, your belongings, your liability, and somewhere to live while a claim is repaired. Most of the underinsurance we find is in the first and last of those. We check the rebuild cost rather than copying the figure from your old policy forward.

What this coverage generally includes

  • Dwelling and other structures, at replacement cost
  • Personal property, with scheduled items for jewellery and equipment
  • Personal liability and medical payments to others
  • Loss of use, so you have somewhere to stay during repairs
  • Landlord and rental-property policies
  • Optional water backup, service line and equipment breakdown

What we will ask you

  • Year built, square footage, roof age and roof material
  • Recent updates to roof, electrical, plumbing and HVAC
  • Whether there is a pool, trampoline, solar or a casita
  • Your mortgage lender, so the policy satisfies their requirements

Worth knowing

  • Roof age and material drive both price and eligibility in Arizona more than almost anything else.
  • Standard homeowners policies exclude flood. If your property needs it, we will say so and quote it separately.
  • Rebuild cost is not market value and not what you paid. It is what it would cost to build again today.

Descriptions of coverage on this site are general summaries for information only. They are not an offer of insurance, not a contract, and not a guarantee of coverage or price. Only the policy issued by the insurance company determines what is covered. Coverage, availability, discounts and eligibility vary by carrier and by applicant and are subject to underwriting.
